School worker advocates for inclusion during Developmental Disability Awareness Month

How People with Developmental Disabilities can become advocates and leaders It’s Developmental Disability Awareness Month, and today we’re jumping into one of the most important topics in our movement: self‑advocacy. Self‑advocacy is when a person with a developmental disability uses their lived experience to speak up, lead, and make change. Sometimes that advocacy is personal — talking with a boss, a teacher, or a service provider. Sometimes it’s public — testifying at the state legislature, bu
