Drill Of The Week: Back Tuck Progression (Basic) Purpose: An introduction to help athletes develop an understanding of the "tuck" skill as well as learn the basic "tuck" body shapes with controlled landings. Prerequisite: Backwards Roll, Multiple Standing and Running BHS Drill One(Top Left): The athlete begins standing at the top of a wedge mat which is on a raised surface approximately 24" inches tall. The athlete should standing with their arms crossed behind their head hands near shoulders. C

💫 Skill Breakdown: Back Tuck 💫 doesn’t want to know how to do a back flip?? In gymnastics we call them back tucks, and here’s the breakdown: ✅ Start standing up straight with your arms tight by your ears and feet together ✅ Swing your arms down while bending your knees and leaning slightly forward - Think sitting in a chair! ✅ Jump up and slightly back, and pick a spot in front of you to look at for as long as possible while you jump back ✅ Bring your hips up and over while bending your knees
