這篇濟公活佛慈訓：主要是在講「如何消業障、如何真正修行、如何從心地下功夫」，而且特別強調「懺悔、行功、觀照自心」的重要。這不是單單叫人做外表功課，而是在提醒修道人，要真正從內心去轉化自己的業力與習氣。 一開始，老師講到「最大的無畏施」，是在講白陽時期許多老前輩為了保護大道與天命，不惜犧牲生命去辦道。早期有許多前賢，在動亂與政治壓力之下，仍然冒著生命危險傳道，有人逃離鐵幕，有人被逼迫，有人暗中開荒。他們不是為了自己名利，而是為了讓大道能繼續流傳，讓更多原胎佛子有機會得救。這種為道犧牲、護持慧命的精神，才是真正的大無畏施。 老師是在提醒後學，不要把「布施」看得太狹窄。很多人以為佛堂端茶、煮飯就是功德，雖然這也是行功，但真正的大功德，是肯犧牲自己、成全眾生、護持大道。也就是說，真正的無畏施，是讓眾生離苦得救，是保護眾生的慧命。 接著老師講「懺悔」，這是一貫道非常重要的修持。因為人從累世到今生，不知道造了多少業。很多罪過不是故意，但無意中也傷害了很多生命。例如小時候殺雞、捕魚，甚至耕田踩死蟲魚，都可能造下殺業。一貫道講「萬物皆有靈」，所以修道人要培養慈悲心。 但老師更深層要講的，不只是外在殺生
